The Role of Project Engineer

The project engineer is one of the key roles that works closely with the rest of the project organization on project economics. This involves establishing production budgets, continuously working on cost control, and compiling final cost forecasts four times a year. To succeed in this, you need to be well-versed in applicable contract terms and be able to communicate well with both employees and clients and suppliers. The role is broad; you will work on everything from invoicing issues to long-term strategic work. The role is part of the commercial group, which also includes other project engineers as well as a Commercial Project Manager, Group Manager of Finance, Bid Engineers, Cost Engineers, and Purchasers.

As a person, you have a strong commitment to order and structure and enjoy working with finance. You should have a good ability to see the big picture but also be able to analyze details when necessary. You thrive both in team settings close to production and independently. You have a post-secondary education, preferably in construction engineering or equivalent experience. Your educational background should be relevant to the role. Your Swedish is good in both spoken and written form, and you have a B driver's license.

We are looking for someone with several years of professional experience in similar tasks. You are likely currently working as a contract/project engineer, project controller, or economist, but you may also work in other roles with significant knowledge/interest in financial management in general. It is advantageous if you have previously worked in the construction industry and preferably in the MAP system.

The position is a permanent employment with the location in Uppsala. The first assignment described in this advertisement is at our project office in Västerås, which runs until 2028.
